Norfolk General District Court Judge Charles R. Cloud has been re-elected by the Board of Governors of the American Bar Association to serve a three-year-term on the Board of Trustees of the National Judicial College.

Dedra Dixon Carter, director of employee and community relations at Norfolk Airport Authority at Norfolk International Airport, received the 1995 Yoder-Heneman Human Resource Management Award at the Society of Human Resource Management National Convention in Orlando, Fla., last month.

CAMPUS NOTES

Jacqueline D. Robertson, a teaching assistant in the Norfolk public schools, has won a $1,000 Robert G. Porter scholarship grant from the American Federation of Teachers to further her studies.

Robertson, who works at the Berkley/Campostella Early Childhood Center, intends to use the grant toward a teaching degree at Norfolk State University.

The Porter scholarships are given in honor of the late secretary-treasurer of the AFT for his commitment to teacher unionism and civil rights.

James S. Mathews Jr., Cheney S. Patrick and Wendy J. Palen, all of Norfolk, made the dean's list for the spring semester at Randolph-Macon College, Ashland, Va.

Tara O. McArthur of Norfolk recently received a bachelor's degree in nursing from Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg.

John E. O'Neill III of Norfolk recently graduated from Elon College in North Carolina.

Jessaca M. Senechal of Norfolk recently graduated from Campbell University, Buies Creek, N.C.

Melvin L. Anderson and Eric P. Powell, both of Norfolk, made the honor roll for the spring semester at Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina.

Holly Higgins of Norfolk received one of 11 teacher education scholarships awarded by the Virginia Space Grant Consortium to students who are enrolled in a course of study that will lead to teaching certification in the sciences, mathematics or technology at one of the Virginia Space Grant colleges and universities. Higgins, who attends the University of Virginia, graduated from Granby High School with high honors and is a member of the National Honor Society and Hampton Roads Young Achievers.

Ricardo Lianez and James G. Walker made the president's list for the spring semester at James Madison University, Harrisonburg.

The following Norfolk residents made the dean's list for the spring semester at James Madison University: Rebecca F. Williams, Brandy A. Bergenstock, Shawn F. Blount, John D. Dugan, John N. Sharon M. Blumenthal of Norfolk made the chancellor's list for the spring semester at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
