CRIME REPORT - SUFFOLK

The crimes listed here were reported to the Suffolk Police Department. Because they are initial reports, they are allegations only and may or may not have resulted in criminal charges.

DISTRICT A

Breaking and entering, 6100 block College Drive, July 17, someone entered a residence by breaking a bedroom window. Once inside, a Sony VCR, Sony phone, RCA VCR movie camera, Olympia 35 mm camera, Sony portable CD player, a lady's black leather jacket, a man's black leather jacket and two rings were removed.

Breaking and entering, 4000 block Driver Lane, July 19, someone pried open a rear shed to a business and removed several items totaling $1,700.

DISTRICT B

Motor vehicle theft, U.S. 58 eastbound at Wilroy, July 13, someone left a black, 88 Yamaha F2600 motorcycle on the road because of mechanical problems but when he returned, the bike was missing.

Breaking and entering, 3100 block Kings Fork Road, July 17, someone entered a residence through a rear bedroom window and removed several items including three pairs of hunting pants and a sleeping bag. The suspect also took sugar and wrote the word ``noodle'' on the kitchen table with a ``x'' under it.

Grand larceny auto, 3100 block Kings Fork Road, July 17, between July 15 and July 17, someone removed a '77 Ford truck from the rear of a residence. The vehicle was crashed through an iron gate in front of the property.

Petty larceny, 3300 block Nansemond Parkway, July 18, someone removed the front license plate from an '88 Jeep while it was parked in the Nansemond River High School lot.

DISTRICT C

Petty larceny, 800 block Gittings St., July 13, someone removed a lock from a light-and-dark-blue Murray 10-speed Mountain Climber bike and removed it from a front porch.

Petty larceny, North Main Street, July 13, someone removed $40 in U.S. currency from a purse which had been stored in an unsecured locker.

Motor vehicle theft, 400 block South Broad St., July 13, someone removed a burgundy, 4-door, '86 Pontiac Grand Am without permission while the owner was on vacation.

Breaking and entering, 900 block Garfield Ave., July 15, someone attempted to gain entry to a house by kicking the front door causing the door frame to split around the lock area. However, they were unable to gain entry.

Breaking and entering, 800 block Second Ave., July 14, someone broke out the glass in a rear window. While unable to gain entry to the house, they were able to reach inside and move several items.

Hit and run, 200 block Bute St., July 16, a 4-door '88 Chevrolet sedan was struck while parked at a residence. A man driving a light blue Chevrolet pickup truck was spotted as he struck the vehicle and then fled the scene.

Petty larceny, 500 block West Constance Road, July 17, someone removed a Contel cellular phone from an '86 Chrysler Fifth Avenue.

Breaking and entering, 400 block West Railroad Ave., July 18, someone gained entry to a house by breaking out the glass in the rear door. Once inside, closets and drawers were ransacked. Missing items included a kerosene heater and a 13-inch G.E. black and white television.

Petty larceny, 300 block North Main St., July 19, somoene removed a dark blue Murray 10-speed Mountain Climber bicycle from a recreation center.

DISTRICT D

Petty larceny, 100 block North Division St., July 13, someone removed a state inspection sticker from a vehicle.

Breaking and entering, 1300 block Portsmouth Blvd., July 13, while opening a business, someone noticed that a Ford factory cassette player was missing from its shelf. Also missing was approximately $45 in wrapped coins from the rear room and $20 in loose change from the cash register. Marks on the door indicate someone pried it open to gain entry.

Stolen city decal, 2100 block Oregon Ave., July 14, a Suffolk city decal was removed from an '89 Nissan Stanza.

Petty larceny, 300 block Bullock St., July 14, someone entered an unlocked vehicle and removed the inspection sticker.

Lost/stolen wallet, Constant's Wharf, July 14, while pulling his boat out of the water, a man placed his shirt and wallet on the dock. When he returned, the shirt was there but the wallet was missing. The wallet contained approximately $800, a Virginia driver's license and two pictures.

Strong-arm robbery, 200 block Pinner St., July 15, a woman reports that two men pushed her to the ground and took her purse. The bag contained a 10 kt. black onyx ring with the letter ``B'' on it, picture ID's, a house key and a black wallet with miscellaneous papers.

Grand larceny auto, 10 block Stacey Drive, July 15, someone removed a white, 2-door, '85 Pontiac without permission.

Grand larceny, 200 block Baker St., July 15, someone removed an RCA VCR valued at $600, a microwave model valued at $100 and a boy's 10-speed mountain bike from a residence.

Petty larceny, 1100 block C St., July 15, someone entered a vehicle and removed a black Motorola bag phone.

Petty larceny, 100 block Cullodan St., July 16, someone forced open the right rear passenger window of a car and removed $86 from a purse.

DISTRICT E

Vandalism, 4000 block Deer Path Road, July 16, four residents report that their mailboxes were damaged by someone throwing what appeared to be a brick or block of some type at them.

Grand larceny, 200 block Lummis Road, July 17, someone removed approximately $2,000 worth of tools from a business vehicle.

Vandalism, 3900 block Deer Path Road, July 18, someone was forced to stop his car in the middle of a roadway where a juvenile began kicking the vehicle causing dents to the side and hood. by CNB
