RICHARD P. HOWLIN SR.

Richard Patrick Howlin Sr., 65, of 1004 Ocean Pebbles Way, died Tuesday, July 25, 1995, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.

A native of Washington, D.C., he retired in 1990 as a supervisor after 26 years with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth. He was the loving husband of Betty Carter Howlin, who passed away February 2, 1995.

Mr. Howlin is survived by two daughters, Jackie L. Dayton of Carolina Beach, N.C. and Jody L. Old of Virginia Beach; six sons, Gilbert R. Howlin of St. Petersburg, Fla., Ernest M. Howlin of Louisville, Kent., Richard P. Howlin Jr. of Virginia Beach, Timothy M. Howlin of the U.S. Navy, Charles B. Howlin of Virginia Beach and Christopher M. Howlin of Avon, Colo.; three sisters, Mary Nicholson of Annapolis, Md., Eva Richards of Spotsylvania, Va., and Frances Hulbert of Hyattsville, Md.; one brother, Joseph R. Howlin of Edgewater, Md.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Maestas Funeral Home, Baltic Avenue Chapel, by Father Thomas J. Caroluzza. Burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Saturday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
