THOMAS D. GOOLSBY

Thomas Draper Goolsby, 76, died July 25, 1995, in a Virginia Beach hospital.

Mr. Goolsby was born October 6, 1918, in Newport News, Va. He served in World War II and retired from the service as Staff Sargeant with the Battery "B", 111th Field Artillery Battalion, 29th Division. Mr. Goolsby was retired from C&P Telephone Company after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, past Vice President and member of the Board of Tidewater Anglers Club, Post (NU)5 29th Division Association, and the VFW.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy White Goolsby; one daughter, Patricia Goolsby Reed and husband Kerry T. Reed; three stepsons, James E. White Jr. and wife Jackie, Thomas F. White and wife Carol, Michael A. White and wife Vivian; his mother, Myrtle Lee Goolsby; six grandchildren, James E. White III, R. Michelle Broadhurst, Thomas F. White Jr., Marissa White, James Michael White and Jennifer White; and two great-grandchildren, James Ellis White IV, and Samantha White.

A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Friday, July 28, 1995, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by the Rev. Charles W. Hubbard Jr. Burial will be private. Following the memorial service, the family will receive friends at the home of his stepson James E. White Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, or the Ocean Park Rescue Squad of Virginia Beach.
