Elsie Ellen Franklin, 81, died July 26, 1995, in Suffolk.
She was a native of West Virginia and was the widow of Clyde H. Franklin. Mrs. Franklin was a member of First Lutheran Church in Portsmouth.
She is survived by six daughters, Polly Ann Grow of Barstow, Calif., Juanita Claussen of Portsmouth, Vivian Petroskey of Chesapeake, Va., Phyllis Godwin of Portsmouth, Mary Jones of Portsmouth, and Betty Mitchell of Portsmouth; two sons, Benjamin H. Franklin and Arthur Franklin, both of Portsmouth; one sister, Clora McKinney of Princeton, W.Va.; three brothers, Paul McKinney of Princeton, W.Va., Tollison McKinney of Phoenix, Ariz., and Allen McKinney of Los Angeles, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-gradchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, July 28, 1995, in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by Rev. Henry J. Hund. Burial is in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, today evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and other times at 1101 Tatem Ave. in Portsmouth.
