Seaman apprentice Robert Ellswick, above, checks the mooring lines
that tie the destroyer Ramage to its new homeport, the Norfolk Naval
Base, on Wednesday. The Ramage, commissioned in South Boston, Mass.,
on July 22, will be tied to Norfolk for some time to come - a fact
appreciated by Petty Officer First Class Richard Thompson, left.
Greeting him at his arrival Wednesday were his wife, Stacey, and
son, Brandon, 4. The Thompsons live in Chesapeake.
