William F. Bonney Jr., 78, of the 5000 block of Churchill Court, died July 27, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Bonney was a native of Norfolk and was retired from Norfolk Southern Corporation, where he worked as a district sales manager. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church, where he was involved in the both the choir and the men's choir. He was the past president of Hampton Roads Traffic Club, past president of National Defense Transportation Association, Virginia Beach Chorale, Masonic Lodge, Virginia Beach (NU)274 and Harbor Club member.
He is survived by his daughter, Emily Bonney Friedrich of Buffalo, N.Y.; one son, Christopher Fredrick Bonney of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Mildred Phillips of Staunton, Va., and Mary Ann Demario of Miami, Fla.; one brother, Vernon A. Bonney of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren, Susan F. Lanham and Elizabeth A. Friedrich of Buffalo, N.Y., Chip Friedrich of Butte, Mont., and Grace S. Bonney of Virginia Beach; three great-grandchildren, Caitlin E. Lanham and Joshua S. Lanham of Buffalo, N.Y., and E. Aaron Friedrich of Butte, Mont.; one niece, Cindy Phillips of Charlottesville, Va.; four nephews, Vernon A. Bonney Jr., Craig F. Bonney, and W. Keith Bonney , all of Virginia Beach, and Steve Phillips of Staunton, Va.; two cousins, Albert Lee Bonney Jr. and Larry Ray Bonney of Virginia Beach; and several cousins in surrounding areas.
A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 1995, by the Rev. Lewis Morgan in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Music Department at Community United Methodist Church, Virginia Beach. Smith and Williams, Kempsville Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
