Kathleen Baker Staylor, 83, died July 27, 1995, at Louise Obici Hospital.
A natve of Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Lee Baker and Lula Nelms Baker. She had retired as manager of Byrum Gift Department after 26 years. She was a member of Suffolk Christian Church for over 70 years, its Women's Fellowship, Circle 6, and former member of the west Memorial Bible Class. Mrs. Staylor was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge (NU)685, and was a past president of the Suffolk Woman's Club. She was a graduate of Suffolk High School and attended Mary Washington College.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay Staylor Simons of Suffolk; a son, Mills W. Staylor Jr. of Suffolk; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Bruce Havens. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23434, or the Abiding Memorial Fund of Suffolk Christian Church, 216 N.
