``Milliseconds to Millenia: The Art of Time'' will be the topic of a lecture workshop at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 1 at the Arts Center of Portsmouth Museums.
Lynn Sparrow of Virginia Beach, a Certified Master Hypnotherapist, Time Line Therapy practitioner and Neurolinquistic Programming practitioner, will discuss how a personal concept of time shapes one's life.
The one-hour program is free and open to the public. Anyone wishing to attend may take a bag lunch. The museum will provide a beverage.
According to the speaker, each person carries an internal concept of time that arranges past, present and future into a meaningful order. Consciously or unconsciously, a person arranges memories, expectations of the future and experiences of the present, according to the internal ``filing system'' of a personal time line.
When a person learns to recognize the inner map of his own time line, he can learn to use it as a very direct road to making desired changes in life, Sparrow said. She will discuss the concepts of time and how to use them.
A professional speaker and trainer, Sparrow has traveled for 20 years to present workshops and seminars in the fields of personal and spiritual growth, motivation and self discovery.
She is the author of two books, numerous magazine articles and several audio and video home-study courses. by CNB
