HELEN L. HARRIS

Helen Louise Harris, 56, of the 3600 block of Tyre Neck Road, a retired operating room technician, did July 27, 1995, in Maryview Hospital.

Mrs. Harris was born in Nansemond County, Va., on June 19, 1939. She retired from Maryview Hospital, was a faithful member of Grove Baptist Church, member of various ministries in the church and a member of Miriam Chapter (NU)107 Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include her loving, devoted and faithful husband, Emanuel Harris; two daughters, Nina Harris Bing and Lisette Harris, both of Portsmouth; a stepfather, James Tolliver of Portsmouth; a sister, Annie Jones Iszard of Laurelton, N.Y.; two brothers, Major Jones Jr., of Neptune, N.J., and Alex Jones of Norfolk; two foster brothers, Ronald McGee of Berlin, Germany, and Andre McGee of Fayetteville, N.C.; a grandchild, Aaron Bing of Portsmouth; six sisters-in-law, Suzanne Jones, Anna Jones, Louise Knight, Edith Harris, Rose McGee and Lisa McGee; a son-in-law, Anthony M. Bing; two brothers-in-law, Stanley Iszard and Columbus Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Minnie Jones Tolliver and Major Jones Sr.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday at Grove Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by Dr. Melvin O. Marriner Sr. and his associates. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Fisher Funeral Home. The family will be at the residence. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
