Matilda Peace, of the 800 block of Joyce St., a laborer, died July 26, 1995 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Peace was born in Raleigh, N.C. She was a member of Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Chesapeake, the Usher Board and Missionary Board. She was the widow of Richard Peace Sr.
Survivors include three daughters, Estell Mays of Washington, D.C., and Nettie Carrington and Georgannia McClease, both of Norfolk; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church by Dr. Donald Taylor. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Arrangements by Metropolitan Funeral Service. Family and friends will assemble at 802 Joyce St., Norfolk, at 10 a.m. Wednesday for funeral processional to the church.
