CRIME LINE

Local police are asking public assistance in solving these cases:

CHESAPEAKE

On July 20, about 6 p.m., a man armed with a chrome-plated 9mm handgun robbed Chesapeake Bay Crab House in the 2500 block of Campostella Road.

When the suspect entered the business, he jumped over the counter and confronted the clerk with the weapon. He subsequently ordered everyone to the floor and announced: ``Do not move! This is a stickup!''

After the robbery, the suspect fled in a tan GMC pickup driven by an accomplice. The vehicle's Virginia license plate was COB-271.

The suspect is described as black, 25 to 30 years old, 6 feet tall, 160 pounds, with black hair. He was wearing a multicolored shirt and long pants.

NORFOLK

On July 10, about 1:20 a.m., a man entered Lee's Pub in the 600 block of E. Little Creek Road. He brandished a single-barreled shotgun and demanded money from the bartender and patrons.

After taking cash from the cash drawer and customers, the suspect fled through a rear door.

The suspect is described as black, 17 to 19 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 150 pounds with a small build, a dark complexion and short black hair.

He was wearing a purple-hooded sweatshirt, gray stone-washed jeans and white tennis shoes.

VIRGINIA BEACH

Monday night, May 29, someone removed a life-size wooden crucifix of Jesus from St. Nicholas Catholic Church at 712 Little Neck Road.

Two weeks later, on June 14, the Jesus figure was found on the front steps of St. Pius X Catholic Church on Halprin Drive in Norfolk.

The statue's arms had been broken off, and the cross is still missing.

There was a note attached to the statue with the initials ``B.E., D.D., D.W., J.S.''

HAMPTON

On July 15, about 10 p.m., three men in the 200 block of S. Mallory St. fired shots into a vehicle, striking one person.

The suspects were last seen fleeing the area in a late model white four-door Nissan Stanza. by CNB
