Ruth Bishop Morey, 81, a native of Dendron, died July 30, 1995, in Charleston, S.C.
Her parents were the late James Robert and Hattie Skinner Bishop. She was the widow of Robert Edwin Morey Sr. and mother of the late Robert E. Morey Jr. She attended William and Mary College and was a member of Dendron United Church of Christ. She retired in 1958 as a health physicist technician for the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C. While in Washington, she belonged to the Homemakers Club, Methodist Christian Woman's Club, Square Dance Club and Avion Trailer Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Ruth M. Eavey of Williamsport, Md.; a sister, Audrey Bishop Williams of Dendron; a daughter-in-law, Sarah McMillan Morey of Folly Beach, S.C.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, on Thursday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service Thursday morning. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 6767 Forest Hill Ave., Suite 270, Richmond, Va. 23225-1851.
