Ardro ``Catfish'' Best, 81, of the 2700 block of Columbus Ave., died July 29, 1995, in his home.
Mr. Best was born in Rocky Point, N.C. He was a retired pipe layer for Virginia Electric and Power Company after 34 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Leomia G. Best; daughter, Mavis S. Demby of Chesapeake; son, Ananias Gallop of Portsmouth; brother, Linwood Best of Rocky Point, N.C.; seven grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
The funeral will be conducted Thursday, August 3, 1995, at 1 p.m. by Bishop Juanelle L. Johnson in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park in Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The family will be at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James E. Demby Sr., 4008 Sunvalley Crescent, Chesapeake, Va., and will assemble there for the funeral service.
