FOLLOWING HELMS' LOGIC

Jesse Helms and his supporters argue that funding for AIDS research should be drastically reduced since it is the ``deliberate, disgusting, revolting conduct`` of AIDS victims that is responsible for their disease. If they are correct, then it is also time to drastically reduce tobacco-related cancer-research funding since Americans are sick and tired of the ``deliberate, disgusting, revolting conduct'' of smokers that is responsible not only for their disease but also for the debilitating and fatal diseases of millions of innocent passive-smoke victims.

Oh, I forgot. There's a profit in tobacco - especially in North Carolina.
