Oscar T. ``Smitty'' Smith, 85, of the 200 block of Poplar Ave., died July 29, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mr. Smith was born in North Carolina. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Virginia Electric and Power Company after 37 years of service. He was a member of St. Mark VCC of Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Smith; and one sister, Sally Overby of Chesapeake.
The funeral will be conducted Thursday, August 3, 1995, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Thomas Hart in St. Mark VCC of Norfolk. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park in Chesapeake. Hale Funeral Home in charge. Family and friends will assemble at the home at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 1995, for the funeral processional to the church. ILLUSTRATION: Personal photo
