LEONA S. WAGNER

Leona S. Surplus Wagner, 82, formerly of Norfolk, died July 25, 1995 after a long illness at Rose Hawthorne Lathrop Home in Fall River, Mass.

She was the wife of the late George Wagner and daughter of the late Hugh and Emma Fraley Surplus. She was born in Berwick, Pa., lived in Norfolk for most of her life before moving to Acushnet several months ago. She was a communicant of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament. She worked for Navy Relief as an office manager at the U.S. Naval Base in Norfolk for many years until her retirement.

Survivors include a son, Nicholas P. Wagner of Acushnet; four grandchildren, Kimberly R. Harris and Nicholas P. Wagner Jr., both of Norfolk, and Eric L. Wagner and Neil P. Wagner, both of Acushnet; a great-granddaughter, Shelby N. Harris of Norfolk; and two nieces, Hannah Binskey of Manassas, Va., and Marianne Smith of Asheville, N.C. She was the sister of the late Robert K. Surplus and Kenneth Surplus.

According to her wishes, her remains were forwarded to Harvard Medical School in Boston for anatomical research. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Norfolk on Friday, Aug. 4, at 9 a.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Rose Hawthorne Lathrop Home, 1600 Bay St., Fall River, Mass. 02720.
