E. Shepherd Wilson, 79, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 1995.
A native and lifelong resident of Hampton, he was the former owner of Wilson's Grocery and Hardware Store for 31 years.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Emma F. Wilson; son, Elmer S. Wilson Jr. and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Charlene Beethoven of Mechanicsville; and two grandsons, Ryan T. Beethoven-Wilson and Philip E. Beethoven-Wilson, both of Mechanicsville.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church, Hampton, by the Rev. William L. Vann. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. Memorials may be sent to the First Methodist Church, 110 E. Queen St., Hampton, Va. 23669.
