Larry ``Lightning'' Powell, 47, of the 100 block of Hansen Ave., died July 29, 1995, in Maryview Hospital.
He was a native of Portsmouth and was a car washer with Smith Brothers Car Wash.
He is survived by his sister, Jeannette D. Craig of Washington D.C.; one brother, Robert Powell of Washington D.C.; two uncles, William Rodgers and Joe Rodgers; one aunt, Dorothy Rodgers, all of Portsmouth; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Raymond Powell. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home for the service.
