RAYMOND L. WHITE

Raymond L. ``Ray'' White, 82, of the first block of Seminole Drive, died Aug. 1, 1995.

Mr. White, a retired employee of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, worked at the shipyard for 27 years. He was a member of the Zion Baptist Church, and involved in the gospel choir. He was also a member of the Portsmouth Senior Citizens, and the Portsmouth/Suffolk Bowling League.

Survivors include four daughters, Eloise Bowser, Lavern Cash, Zana Epps, and Sandra Smith; six sons, John White, Joseph White, Roland White, Jesse White, Carl White, and Tony White; nineteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Zion Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Joseph L. Roberts. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Fisher Funeral Home in charge. The body will be in the church at 1 p.m. The family will be at 2317 Effingham St., and will assemble there for the procession. ILLUSTRATION: Personal Photo
