Edward Barnes Jr., of the 3500 block of Radford Circle, died August 1, 1995, in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth, Va.
Mr. Barnes was born in Norfolk County, Va., and was a member of Gordon Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Chesapeake. He worked as a self-employed mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Clydia M. Barnes of Chesapeake; one daughter, Sandra D. Hopkins of Chesapeake; one son, Edward S. Barnes III of Chesapeake; one sister, Odessa Paige of Norfolk; three grandchildren; and one daughter-in-law, Arlette Barnes of Chesapeake.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, August 4, 1995, in Gordon Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Johnnie Clark. Burial is at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Fitchett Funeral Home is handling arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Personal Photo
