Marjorie Virginia Jones-Dilworth, 82, of the 300 block of Newtown Road, died Wednesday, August 2, 1995, in Sentara Bayside Hospital in Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Dilworth, a native of Knotts Island, N.C., was the daughter of the late Walter and Dallie Jones. She was the widow of her beloved husband of 40 years, Walter S. Dilworth. She was a graduate of Elon College in North Carolina. During her career as a math teacher she taught in Rhode Island, North Carolina and Virginia. Though she retired after 20 years of teaching, she continued to do volunteer work for the city of Hampton and Kecoughtan Veterans Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Anne D. LaPointe and son-in-law, David R. LaPointe of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, John P. Mason of Chesapeake and Ginger A. West of Pasadena, Calif.; and her sister, Eloise J. Cowand of Norfolk.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Colonial Grove Memorial Park by Pastor Jack Smith. The family will receive friends today from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. Memorial donations may be sent to the American Heart Association.
