Dare County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 20-year-old Kill Devil Hills man Wednesday afternoon on charges of second degree rape.
Christopher Bradshaw was under a $25,000 bond at the Dare County jail Wednesday night, awaiting a first appearance hearing in Dare County District Court today.
The victim, a former Dare County resident, is 21 years old and a Pennsylvania resident.
She was visiting a friend in Colington Harbour early Wednesday morning when she was attacked near her friend's residence at about 3:30 a.m. She reported the incident to police and was treated at Outer Banks Medical Center.
The victim, who had known Bradshaw for several years, was not otherwise injured.
