A memorial to the crew of the cruiser Indianapolis - torpedoed in

shark-infested waters in 1945 - was unveiled Wednesday in

Indianapolis, far right. Kimo McVay, right, makes a rubbing of his

father's name. Capt. Charles McVay III was court-martialed for the

sinking. About 900 of the 1,196-man crew left ship, but only 316

survived. The final toll: 880 dead.
