Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Board of Education member Matt Wood has been named to the state Commission on School Facility needs.
Wood, appointed by Lt. Gov. Dennis Wicker, will serve in the position through mid-1999.
The organization, also known as the Critical Needs Commission, was formed in 1987. It awards annual grants to counties with critical school-construction needs.
The funding is awarded using a priority listing of each county's needs, developed from information supplied by county commissioners and school boards. by CNB
