It's not often that I do, but this time I have to agree with your paper in regard to elected School Boards in Norfolk (``No elected School Board,'' editorial, July 19). As soon as the members get elected, they will vote themselves a healthy pay raise and later on will set themselves up a nice retirement plan for their part-time public-service jobs like City Council.
At least those who are appointed should have an interest in the schools rather than in a political career.
