VIRGINIA W. WHITE

Virginia Warwick White, 72, formerly of Portsmouth, died Aug. 2, 1995. Mrs. White is a native of Hendersonville, N.C. She was raised in Portsmouth. She was a graduate of Churchland High School, attended Mary Washington College, and taught elementary school in Portsmouth for 14 years. In 1967, she moved to Jacksonville, Fla., where she was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Hope White Meyer of Orlando, Fla., and Stephanie White Apsey of Atlanta; a sister, Charlene Creekmore Wiser of Suffolk; a sister-in-law, Marie D. Warwick; and four grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Meyer, both of Orlando, Fla., and Thomas and Laura Apsey, both of Atlanta.

A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Timothy L. Piland at 1 p.m. Saturday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, in charge. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Northside Hospice (in memory of Virginia White) 5825 Glenridge Dr., Bldg. 4, Atlanta, Ga., 30328-5544.
