Frank L. Cooper, 76, of the 2800 block of Breeze Ave., died Aug. 2, 1995, in his home in Chesapeake.
Mr. Cooper, a retired ship fitter for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, was born in Norfolk County. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Chesapeake, and former church clerk, former president of the senior choir, former superintendent of Sunday School, and founder of the Brotherhood of New Hope Baptist Church. He was also a member of A.M. Jones Lodge (NU)79, Order of Masons, and former president of St. Julian Creek Civic League.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn L. Cooper of Chesapeake; a daughter, Carolyn V. Green of Temple Hills, Md.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
The funeral will be at noon on Saturday in New Hope Baptist Church, by the Rev. Sidney Foster. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 2 p.m. today. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
