Lyle Parker Creiman, 78, of the 4200 block of Raleigh Road, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Creiman, a native of Concrete, North Dakota, was retired from General Electric as a Design Engineer with 39 years of service. During his career he was awarded several patents and was involved in the design of the first G.E. portable radio, transistor radio, first lightweight portable TV and transistor TV for General Electric. He attended The Church of St. Therese. He was a blood donor for which he received his 8-gallon pin.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Irene A. Creiman; two sons, John L. Creiman of Syracuse, N.Y., and James A. Creiman of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Donna Jean Rio of Grand Forks, North Dakota, and Jackie Sondreal of Huron, South Dakota; and two grandchildren.
Service of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in The Church of St. Therese at 4137 Portsmouth Blvd. by Rev. James C. Griffin. Entombment will be at the Meadowbrook Memorial Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett's Creek Chapel. After the entombment, the family will gather at 12 noon Monday in the church social hall for a reception.
