Dennis Lamar Phillips, 39, of the 1200 block of Alcindor Road, born August 17, 1955, died August 1, 1995.
He was the son of Mrs. Lena Phillips and the late James C. Phillips. He was a member of First Church of Deliverance II where he attended and serviced, until incapacitated, with his devoted and loving Pastor, the Rev. Emanuel M. Sexton. A graduate of Manor High School, he attended Tidewater Community College.
He was the father of Tonya Maxwell, Denica Staton, Dennis Walton Phillips, Jr., Tresha Phillips and Tajeianna Phillips. His surviving brothers and sisters are Irene Wiggins of San Diego, Calif.; James H. Phillips and Eula Tucker-Spence, both of Chesapeake, Va.; Larry Jennings Phillips of New York City; Phyllis Vann-Dominque, James M. Weathers, Philip Weathers, Tammy Weathers, all of Portsmouth, Va.; Gary Weathers of Tennessee and Phyllis Weathers of Virginia Beach, Va.
Nephews are: Brian Tucker and Marcus Choates of Portsmouth, Va.; Eric Tucker, Victor Phillips, Marcus Wilson, Joshua Spence, all of Chesapeake, Va.; and Robert Williams Jr. of Washington, D.C.
Nieces are: Ivory Wiggins of San Diego, Calif.; Yvette Williams of Washington, D.C; Joy Vann-Stephens of Springfield, Va.; and Andrea Vann and Mia Phillips, both of George Mason University, Fairfax, Va.
Aunts and uncles are: Millie Chaney, San Diego, Calif.; Gussie Hunter of Chesapeake, Va.; William Robinson, Washington D.C.; Minni Hill of New Jersey; and Glennis Mae Allen and Ethel Bethel, both of North Carolina.
A host of cousins and true friends, including Ronita, Freda and Paulette, also survive.
