VERNON L. HARRIS JR.

Vernon L. Harris Jr. of the 700 block of Easy St. died Aug. 3, 1995, in a local hospital.

He was a native of Chesapeake and was a member of First Baptist Church, Money Point, in Chesapeake. He was a retired assembly line worker with Weaver Fertilizer and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Willie Mae Harris; a stepdaughter, Geraldine White of Norfolk; two sisters, Reginal Harris and Luvenia Harris, both of Chesapeake; one brother, Cary Harris of Louisville, Kent.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; an aunt, Viola Brown of Chesapeake; an uncle, Jasper Johnson of Suffolk; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church, Money Point, by the Rev. Kenneth Woodley. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Graves Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Friends may join the family at the residence.
