A suspended Norfolk police officer was arrested and charged this week with two sex-related offenses, police spokesman Larry Hill reported Friday.
Chester P. Crowe, 41, was charged Tuesday with indecent liberties with a juvenile and sex with an animate object, Hill said. The crimes allegedly occurred between June 25 and July 30 in Norfolk.
Crowe had been on suspension since May 10, 1994, for other pending charges, Hill said.
In June 1994, a grand jury indicted the then 20-year police veteran and charged him with crimes against nature, bribery and two counts of soliciting for a felony.
In that case, Crowe was accused of engaging in sodomy with a 17-year-old girl. Crowe also was accused of taking a bribe, trying to persuade the girl to commit bribery and asking the girl to engage in sodomy.
