Marcia Ames Spence, 50, of the 1300 block of Buckingham Ave., died Saturday, Aug. 5, 1995, in her residence.
She was born in Jacksonville, Fla. Mrs. Spence was a preschool teacher with the First Presbyterian Church Preschool for 12 years. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension.
Survivors include her husband, Charles H. Spence Jr.; a daughter, Amy Spence McCraw and her husband, Andrew McCraw of Norfolk; a son, Ens. Charles H. Spence III, USN; her parents, Marcia Lovie Hinely Ames and Samuel R. Ames of Virginia Beach; and a sister, Betsy A. Terry of Tampa Bay, Fla.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday in the Episcopal Church of the Ascension by the Rev. Fr. Irwin M. Lewis Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension or to the First Presbyterian Church Preschool. The family will receive friends at their residence. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
