Mrs. Sorrell, widow of Charles Sorrell Jr., died Thursday, August 3, 1995.
Born in Norfolk, Va., she was a daughter of the late Orville Warner Guy and the later Berta Whitehurst Guy. She was a graduate of Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Md., and taught piano at Columbia College and in her home. She was a member of Mu Phi Epsilon and St. Martin Episcopal Church. She was a member of D.A.R. and was a longtime member of Free Mason Street Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, C. Guy Sorrell of Columbia; a daughter, Frances Harris of Leesburg, Fla.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Frances Guy Sorrell of Columbia will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church. Internment will be in St. Martin Memorial Garden. Memorials may be made to Carolina Children's Home. Dunbar Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
