HOPIE R. POPE

Hopie Rawlings Pope of 22318 Thomaston Road, Newsoms, died Sunday, August 6, 1995, in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin, Va., after a short illness.

She was a native of Southampton County, Va., and was a homemaker. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Boykins, Va., and Mt. Tabor Church Missionary Society, Newsoms, Va.

She is survived by two stepdaughters, Ruth Hopkins of Franklin, Va., and Elizabeth Tennessee of Richmond, Va.; two sons, Jeremiah Rawlings of Virginia Beach, and Ulysses Rawlings of Newsoms, Va.; three sisters, Mamie C. Stallings of Portsmouth, Va., Evelyn Brown of Handsom, Va., and Elsie M. Freeman, of Norfolk, Va.; two brothers, Darnell Cutler of Franklin, and Curtis Cutler of Suffolk; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 1995, in Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Chapel, Inc. by the Rev. R.S. Steele. Burial is at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
