ELIZABETH POLLARD

Elizabeth ``Betty'' Pollard, 76, of 3288 Page Ave., was joined with her Lord and her husband, Clyde Pollard, on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 1995, after an illness and a brief stay in the hospital.

Betty was a native of Norfolk, Va., a longstanding member of Epworth United Methodist Church, and most recently a member of Faith Wesleyan Church of Norfolk.

She was well-known for her artistic ability in ceramics, jewelry design, and the founder of Pollards Catering.

She is survived by her four children, Robert L. Pollard Sr., John C. Pollard Sr., Betty Ann Pollard Gravely, and Peggy Pollard Bailey, all of Virginia Beach; one sister, Carole Carter Bryant of Virginia Beach; and one sister-in-law, Kathryn Pollard Bland of Chesapeake. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Robert Pollard Jr., Steve Pollard, Michele Pollard, Ronnie Moore, Jake Pollard, Thomas ``Ti'' Cersley, Sheri Moore, Matt Pollard; and one great-grandchild, Erin Spencer Pollard. She is also survived by one aunt, Toni Leidel of Chesapeake; and two uncles, Carl Meixel of Portsmouth, and Walter Meixel of Grandy, N.C.

A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, Aug. 10, 1995, at 2 p.m. in the Bayside Chapel of Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home by Dr. W. Emmett M. Diggs, Minister of Faith, Wesleyan Church. Visitation for friends of the family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. After the funeral service on Thursday, the family will be at the home of Bobby and Jo Pollard, 1112 Five Forks Road, Virginia Beach. The Pollard family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Faith Wesleyan Church Building Fund, 1099 Kempsville Road, Norfolk, Va. 23502. ILLUSTRATION: Personal Photo
