Mary Sue Rawls Cofield, 90, of the 1200 block of Carolina Road, died Aug. 8, 1995, in Obici Hospital.
Mrs. Cofield was the widow of James Abner Cofield and was born in Aulander, N.C. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Aulander, N.C. She was a homemaker who was dedicated to her children.
She is survived by her four daughters, Aldine C. Beasley of Jacksonville, Fla., Edith C. Palmer or Orange, Calif., Merle C. Groves of Suffolk, Va., and Bobbie C. Byrd of Suffolk; two sons, Doyle Cofield and Carl Cofield, both of Suffolk; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 1995, by the Rev. Paul Bolton in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family in the Hill Funeral Home today from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., and at other times at 332 Northbrooke Ave., the home of Bobbie C. Byrd.
