STELLA Y. PORVAZNIK

Stella Yocas Porvaznik, 89, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 1995, at her residence.

Mrs. Porvaznik, a native of Duquesne, Pa., retired to Kill Devil Hills in 1970. She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, and was a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late Ludwig and Amelia Yocas, and was the widow of the late Michael Porvaznik.

Mrs. Porvaznik is survived by two daughters, Ann P. Wilson and Mary L. Chance, both of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; one son, Sylvester Porvaznik of Point Harbor, N.C.; one sister, Bertha Lucas of W. Mifflin, Pa.; one brother, William V. Yocas of Gulf Port, Fla.; four grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Kill Devil Hills, N.C., on Friday, Aug. 11, 1995, at 9 a.m. by Father Terrence Collins. The family will receive friends at Holy Redeemer on Friday morning from 8 to 9 a.m. prior to the service. The body will be taken to Shaughnessy Funeral Home, Duquesne, Pa., for a graveside service to be held at Holy Name Cemetery in Duquesne, Pa., on Monday, Aug. 14, 1995, at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church Building Fund, 1206 N. Virginia Dare Trail, Kill Devil Hills, N.C. 27948. Twiford's Colony Chapel, Manteo, is in charge of arrangements.
