CHARLES A. BUTT

Charles Alexander Butt, 78, of Hall Bridge Road, died Aug. 8, 1995, in Hillhaven in Virginia Beach.

Mr. Butt was born in Pocahontas, Va., and was a member of First Baptist Church, Norfolk. He was also a member of Pocohontas Masonic Lodge (NU)240, Khedive Temple of the Shrine, Chesapeake Shrine Club, the U.S. Air Force, and he was a veteran of World War II. He was retired from the Virginia Beach School System.

He is survived by three daughters, Ms. Dedra Gale Torelli of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., Mrs. Debi Atkins, and Ms. Beverly Jo Jones, both of Virginia Beach; one son, David Alexander Butt of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters, Mrs. Pansy Hedrick, and Mrs. Kelly Pearman, both of Norfolk, and Mrs. Ferne Fischer of Virgina Beach; two brothers, William Butt of Biloxi, Miss., and George Butt of Rocky Gap, Va.; four grandchildren, Derek Jones of Virginia Beach, Va., Mark Torelli, Michael Torelli, and Kristina Torelli, all of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Dick Baker, in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Crippled Childrens Hospital, c/o Khedive Temple. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
