ADDIE M. REID

Addie M. Reid, 69, of 411 Roosevelt Blvd., died Aug. 6, 1995, in Maryview Hospital in Portsmouth.

Mrs. Reid was born in Norfolk County, Va., and was a retired machine operator for General Forms Corporation, where she worked for 30 years. She was a member and usher of Noble Street Baptist Church, Portsmouth, a member of the Emanuel A.M.E. Senior Citizens Group, member of Chrysanthenum Tent (NU)480, and member of the United Order of Tents.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph J. Reid, Portsmouth; one daughter, Lillian Brown of Portsmouth; three sons, Ralph M. Reid and Bruce Reid, both of Portsmouth, Va., and James Reid of Sacramento, Calif.; four sisters, Maggie Pearson, Vernell Green, Viola Hollis, and Cenie Scarborough, all of Portsmouth; three brothers, Andrew Benton and Ocie Benton, both of Portsmouth, and Stephen Benton, of Boston, Mass.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. Ronnie T. Northam in Noble Street Baptist Church, Portsmouth. Burial is in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. Friday. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday.
