Police are looking for a bicyclist who entered a convenience store Wednesday morning, asked for change, and then snatched $15 when the clerk opened the register.
The man ran out of the store and pedaled west on U.S. Route 158. A clerk lost sight of the robber after he crossed the highway.
Kill Devil Hills Police Chief Jim Gradeless said the man entered the 7-Eleven at 1601 S. Croatan Highway at around 5:52 a.m. He took three five dollar bills from the register. He was not armed.
The suspect is a white male about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a slight build. He has brown hair. He was wearing brown shorts, a baseball cap and no shirt.
