Glenn L. Thomson, 67, of Virginia Beach, died Aug. 10, 1995, at his residence.
Mr. Thomson was a retired general foreman of the mechanical department at the Norfolk Terminal of the Norfolk Southern Corporation. He worked for 43 years in the railroad industry. He was born in Carnegie, Pa., and he was a Baptist. He was a member of West Gate-Cyrus Masonic Lodge (NU)520, and Scottish Rite of Freemasonary-S.J.U.S.A. He was also a United States Army veteran, having served four years (1948-1952) as a Sergeant 1st Class.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy ``Dot'' L. Thomson; three daughters, Dawn L. and husband, Ed Diebold of Columbia, S.C., Kim L. Thomson of Virginia Beach, and Connie L. Thomson of Norfolk; two sisters, Marian Smithley of Pennsylvania and Helen Henretty of Delaware; two brothers, Kenny Thomson and Bill Thomson, both of Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by his mother, Etta Thomson; father, William Thomson; two sisters, Dorothy Habjanetz and Ethel McCartney; and one brother, David Thomson.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, in Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall, Kempsville Chapel, by the Rev. J. Allen Johnson. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends today from noon until 9 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Masonic Rites will be accorded at the graveside.
