Alan H. Jenkins Jr., 69, of the 2100 block of Sandalwood Road, was joined with his Lord, and son, Michael Jenkins, on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 1995, peacefully in his home.
Mr. Jenkins was born in Asheville, N.C., and was a retired airplane craftsman. He was employed as an aircraft mechanic with Ram Aviation until he and his wife founded Custom Antique Aeroplanes in Virginia Beach, where he pursued his passion in rebuilding antique airplanes.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Mary E. Jenkins; three daughters, Katherine R. Midgette of Norfolk, Patricia M. Newton of Virginia Beach, and Donna L. Jenkins Wagnon of Big Pine Key, Fla.; one brother, William K. Jenkins of Virginia Beach; two nieces, Kendall and Amy Jenkins, both of Virginia Beach. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Jacob R. Newton, Kenneth R. Newton, both of Virginia Beach and Michael A. Midgette and Kaci Midgette, both of Norfolk. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the residence Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. Funeral services will be private at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the American Cancer Society. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, is handling arrangements.
