Betty Jane Bowman, 72, of the 900 block of Sunnyside Drive, died Aug. 9, 1995, in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mrs. Bowman, a Christian education teacher for Suburban Christian Church, was the widow of Maurice R. Bowman. She was born in Louisville, Kent. She was a member of Suburban Christian Church and a member of the Bellamy Womens group of the church.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie S. Foster of Orlando, Fla., and Kelly J. Giesenhaus of Prince Frederick, Md.; one son, Harry C. Bowman of Chesapeake; two sisters, Cherie Hairston of MacLean, and Julia Nold of Lemon Grove, Calif.; one brother, Irwin Lynch of Ormond Beach, Fla.; and 11 grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Suburban Christian Church, by the Rev. James A. Meads Jr. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the church's Christian Scholarship Fund or the Building Fund, Suburban Christian Church, 5132 Bellamy Manor Dr., Virginia Beach, Va. 23464.
