Hortense Mitchell Dilday, 68, died Aug. 9, 1995, in Robeson County, N.C., in a car accident.
She was born in Hertford County, N.C., and was a retired bookkeper for Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and Secretary-Treasurer of N.C. Seedsmen's. She was the widow of Hersey Lee Dilday. She was a Baptist.
She is survived by one sister, Peggy Monteith of Greenville, N.C.; one brother, Larry Mitchell of Ashland, Va.; and four nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, in Garrett Funeral Home, by the Rev. Jack Byrd. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, and will assemble at the funeral home 1 p.m. Sunday. Memorial donations may be made to the N.C.
