``Helms is right about AIDS funding'' (letter, July 20) left me just sick. Having no remorse for homosexuals who have contracted AIDS is horrifying.
The letter quoted Jesse Helms as saying it is ``deliberate, disgusting, revolting conduct.'' Does this mean homosexuals deserve to die while the rest of the world does nothing?
The letter also stated that ``AIDS is the leading cause of death only for African-American males aged 25 to 44.'' Only African-American males? Will this be a disease that deserves federal funding only when Caucasian heterosexual males are the ones in the highest risk category?
