Nannie S. Lewis, 97, of the 2200 block of Courtney Ave., a retired homemaker, died Aug. 9, 1995, in Lafayette Villa Health Care.
Mrs. Lewis was born in Creswell, N.C. She was a member of New St. Mark Baptist Church, the Deaconess Board, Senior Usher Board and Pastor Aid. She was a former member of the Supreme Lodge National Ideal Benefit Society, Inc., the widow of Bruce C. Lee and daughter of the late Gracie Stokes and James Stokes.
Survivors include one sister-in-law; six nieces; five nephews; and a host of cousins.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at New St. Mark Baptist Church, 1136 St. Julian Ave., by the Rev. William Burnell. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Arrangements by Hale Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Monday. Family will assemble at 2239 Courtney Ave.
