Clinton Henry Skipper, 65, known as ``Skip,'' of the 100 block of Majestic Cir., died Aug. 10, 1995, at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Skipper was born in Martinez, Calif. He retired after 29 1/2 years of service as a musician in the U.S. Navy. He was a veteran of the Korean War and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Command at the Armed Forces School of Music, Little Creek Base. He also was a former manager of Beach Marine, a division of Norfolk Marine.
As a member of Virginia Beach Christian Church, Mr. Skipper was Choir Director, a Co-Chairmen of the Building Committee, a member of the Board of Directors, and a Facilitator for Marriage Enrichment Retreats. He was also a Volunteer Marshall at Bow Creek Golf Course.
Mr. Skipper was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth Clara and William Skipper.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene E. Skipper; daughters, Kimberly D. VanTuyl of Virginia Beach, Malia S. and husband Gardner Rhea of Griswold, Conn., and Kari L. and husband Bill Foster of Harrisonburg, Va.; son, Jeffery G. Skipper and wife Lori of Virginia Beach; and six grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in Virginia Beach Christian Church, Dr. William Austin presiding. A private burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be given to VBCC.
