Owners of the Riverfront Cafe and Raw Bar were forced to leave their downtown location by Friday after a judge ordered them Tuesday to remove all of their equipment.
The club, at One High Street, had been a thorn in the side of city officials, who were trying to close it. It also faced disciplinary action from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control for allowing underage drinking.
Last month, city officials filed an injunction against the club in an attempt to shut it down. The leasing company for the club, Seabord Coastline Associates, also initiated court proceedings against the club to evict it from its downtown Portsmouth location.
Residents had complained of unruly patrons in the parking lot after the club had closed. by CNB
