A man who died Wednesday night after his car ran off the highway in the 1900 block of Elbow Road was identified Friday as a Norfolk resident.
David W. Gowdy, 42, of the 1300 block of E. Norcova Drive, was found pinned under the wreckage. He was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to Chesapeake General Hospital.
The cause of the single-car accident is under investigation.
